The Boma Health Initiative is a nationwide strategy which mobilises action at the household and community levels. The Initiative strives to improve access to essential health services in order to reduce preventable disease and death. Boma strengthens links between communities and primary health facilities. Delivering services across 80% of South Sudan, it replaces fragmented health services delivered by different organisations with funding from different donors. Funds from DFID, USAID, the EU, Canada and SIDA are pooled together. The consortium, led by Crown Agents, works with the South Sudan government to strengthen its capacity for health service delivery.
