Event: ‘Emergency Shelter’ at Meadowhead School’s World of Work Week

Mia and Mo partnered with Norton College to deliver a session on emergency shelter needs to 34 Year 10 students from Meadowhead School in Sheffield.

The students used their engineering knowledge to design and build basic shelters using bamboo. The group discussed Sphere Standards, and critical factors when building emergency shelter, such as location, size and the importance of using local skills and materials. Mia and Mo also described the diverse career paths in aid work.
